I am so glad I got to go home and see my family that I hadn’t seen in 2.5 years. We had a blast at the Foire du Throne fair with some of my siblings and cousins. If you ever travel to Paris when the fair is on, you have to try the Churros there. The taste is amazing!
The main purpose of the trip was to compete at the elite club championship where my club EFCVO won if course! I also took this trip as an opportunity for my husband to meet my parents, so he came and met me there.
Once my husband finally landed, we went straight to the Eiffel Tower, then took a pedicab over to the Arc the Triumph. After that, we grabbed a bite to eat on the world’s most beautiful avenue; Les Champs Elysees. If you plan on doing some serious shopping in Paris, this is the place where you will find the biggest Louis Vuitton store. There, you can also rent a Lamborghini or Ferrari, and ride around Paris looking super fancy.
We had the chance to see the Louvre museum and take pictures outside. You can go inside the Louvres museum and see the original Mona Lisa painting amongst other thing. There is also a shopping center and restaurants underneath it. Right across the museum is the “Lock Bridge”. Unfortunately, it is now forbidden to attach locks unto the bridge, so we just took a selfie there. Later that day, we went souvenir shopping at Chatelet les Halles before heading home.
The next day, we went to one of the local flea markets, tried to practice in the rain, and then we rode the train over to Disneyland Paris. I suggest buying tickets online because it is way more expensive at the door. I also recommend going early if you want to experience both Disney Studio and Disneyland Paris.
Since I am African, we mostly ate African food, but on the last day after the track meet, my parents took us to Leo de Bruxelles restaurant where we ate the famous Moules – Frites dish (mussels and fries). Hubby seems to have enjoyed his first trip overseas, especially eating at KFC without me lol. We shall go again soon!
